Masks of the Noh

In this four issue story line we start to learn a little bit more on the other agents of the Noh. I personally like the way each agent is represented with a different artist, though the story is still written by David Mack.

Cover to Act One Act One: "malpractice"
This issue starts out with Scarab reflecting on her social life and how she had to kill her boyfriend who betrayed her, yet she had been betraying him all along. She kills him after getting one last piece of information from him in regard to the whereabouts of Kabuki. he gives her the name "Fujita."

Siamese pursue the gunrunner boss Fujita, who tells them to seek out Ozaki, a biker from the Malpractice gang, who supposedly saw a woman covered in blood. Ozaki used to run errand for one of Kai's lieutenants, which is the reason no one ever gave him any trouble, but with Kai's death, everyone suddenly wanted to get a piece of him, and this is when Snapdragon catches up with him. She kills off his attackers and gets Ozaki to tell her that a friend of his is in a local hospital, alive but jawless. This friend is Johnny Yamamoto.

Cover to Act Two Act Two: "flowers for the dead"
Ice find Johnny int he hospital just in time to stop the hound from the Kenzo family from killing him, and places a painting on his wall that is later to be shown to have a camera imbedded in it that she will sue to monitor his room. Johnny fears for his life and tells Ice he informed Control Corps of Kabuki's location in exchanged for their protection, and this location is at her mother's grave stone in a second garden at the General's home. He already told Control Corps this information and warns that they have employed the Preppy Ninjas as their hounds.

Tigerlily runs into these Preppy Ninjas int he outside garden and fights through them even though she is poisoned by one of them. She finally manages to break into the second garden where Tsukiko's grave is and analyzes the bloody hand print on it. When it comes up as matching Kabuki's, she falls backwards on the grave and notices a helicopter flying away. Her opticals scan in on the serial number as she blacks out.

Kabuki is aboard this helicopter and barely alive as doctors work to stabilize her.

Cover to Act Three Act Three: "the calm before the storm"
Tigerlily wakes up on Scarabs bed, where Scarab nurses her wounds and start to talk of their social lives. Butoh is finally shown in the woods training and preparing herself for when she believes she will confront Kabuki. Siamese talk in their home about the admiration they have for Kabuki and how they will miss her. Ice is monitoring Johnny Yamamoto's hospital room when three Control Corps agents pay him a visit. Ice sends two non uniformed agents to follow two of them, as she trails the other. They have a small confrontation which ends in his death and her walking off with his suitcase.

The Noh holds a meeting in which they discuss what they have learned about Kabuki's location. The paperwork Ice had acquired from the agent she killed reveals that Control Corps are holding what remains of Kabuki and running her through tests. The Noh agents' mission: if Kabuki is dead, bring back her corpse. If she is alive, bring back her corpse.

Cover to Act Four Act Four: "in the eye of the storm"
This issue is nothing more than Tigerlily and Scarab talking, getting close and sharing details of their personal lives. This leads into both the next Kabuki story and the Scarab limited series.
